No matter how large or how small one’s vision is for something new, barriers are barriers, obstacles are obstacles. One’s perspective on those can often make all the difference.

“It’s amazing. He always finds an open window.” – K.
No matter how large or how small one’s vision is for something new, barriers are barriers, obstacles are obstacles. One’s perspective on those can often make all the difference.
One of our clients is trying to do something really big. He has a strong team and over several years now they have made progress to the point where the vision is becoming reality, and the impact could truly alter the landscape in their sector. No matter how impenetrable the barriers have been or how large the obstacles, this visionary has always found the open window.
In thinking about what characterizes this visionary, I’ve seen a couple of things. One, is the “mustard seed” of faith that he has. When I read Jesus saying to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” I think of this person. His faith is sizable enough but much more importantly, it is well-placed.
The second thing I have seen is the consistent and articulate prayers that he has expressed and has asked others to join him in for this project. When his prayer requests come our way, they are thoughtful and specific. A big part of finding the open window is being able to recognize it when it is presented.
Of course, the realization of the visionary’s project needs an excellent team, the support of a community, the application of much hard work, and the macro forces aligning, yet certainly it needs the faith that there will always be an open window. At the Agathe Center for Entrepreneurship it is our privilege to work with people like this. They see opportunities to exercise faith where others see impenetrable barriers or immovable obstacles. They keep finding the open window.
